Why We Went Vegan

History of Diets at InBite

As of the beginning of this year, InBite has dedicated itself to transitioning all products to be gluten-free and vegan. InBite started as a small gluten-free company in 2010, but has now decided to make significant changes. InBite has always experimented with various diets such as keto, paleo, kosher, high protein, and, of course, plant-based.

InBite has been predominantly a gluten-free company since our inception, but from time to time we would manufacture vegan products. As of recently, we decided to start making all of our products plant-based to reach more stomachs. We wanted to stay true to our values, which is to inspire individuals to lead a healthy lifestyle. We want to help people meet their nutritional goals while indulging in mouth-watering flavors. Therefore, to accomplish our mission we decided to make our products more accessible to the vegan community.

Why Go Vegan

Aside from wanting to make our products more accessible to others, there were other reasons why we decide to go vegan. As a company, we do not push forward any particular diet, but rather state the benefits of said diet.

  1. Health. Our primary reason to go vegan was the health of our community. As we have come to find out, some items in the meat industry are causing a multitude of health problems in our country. Research has found that plant-based protein is ultimately a lot better than eating animal-based protein. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the vegan diet has many beneficial health factors that include reducing blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and the rate of heart disease. As a health-conscious company, we wanted to stay true to our values of improving our consumer's health.
  1. The Environment. Going vegan is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. According to researchers at Oxford University going vegan can reduce your carbon footprint by 73%. As a small company, it is always important for us to be conscious about who and what we impact. A large issue we are always concerned about is environmental sustainability.
  1. The Animals. Aside from the environmental problems and health issues meat causes, the animals that are used for poultry in this country tend to undergo inhumane conditions. InBite does not want its products to be a part of this practice.

Some of Our Vegan Products
One of our most beloved vegan products is our high-protein cookie, which comes in Double Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Oat & Raisin, Cranberry & Hazelnut, and Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip flavors. Not only does it contain 10 grams of protein, but the flavors of these cookies truly melt in the mouth. Our journey into plant-based products began with these cookies. We love how it is a nutritious and delicious snack for anyone looking for a protein boost.
